The gardens have been busy this last month, demanding attention.
I have been pruning and planting, prepping them for winter's nap, while appreciating the quiet of the days and the fresher air. They responded most generously by providing me with new images and a creative rejuvenation. And with this reawakening, I have been able to complete a few seasonal projects, including an up-date of my web galleries, with the addition of black & white snapshots and a selection of my collected GardenScapes... I'm sensing a gradual tonal shift to the days and nights,
almost convincing me of autumn's presence at last (fully six weeks after its scheduled calender arrival) Just up-dated the site with the addition of a new gallery
comprised of my "Green Waste" series of photos. I began documenting common yard cuttings when I noticed their fragile beauty as they lay awaiting disposal. This led to my contemplation of society's fleeting appreciation of beauty in general, and on a global scale, of nature itself... and at what point we consider it acceptable to degrade the planet's resources to nothing more than suburban waste. Still no relief from the relentless heat this summer;
so I thought a virtual stroll through some refreshing foliage might a be welcome diversion... |
