Every year by the second week of March, our Wisteria
will have attained its exuberant peak - but this year it is ahead of schedule and almost done for the season. Its heady fragrance wafts from almost every corner of the garden - summoning me to return and be enthralled yet again, so that I will continue in my attempts at capturing a few visual memories to sustain me for the remainder of the year when the billowing purples have become engulfed by green. As February passed by all too quickly this year
and we're transitioning into a new month, I thought I would present the last 4 weeks visually, compressed into beginning, middle and end... I don't know if Groundhog Day signaled another 6 weeks of winter
this year, but it does bring a new desktop calendar to download... We're already a day into the shortest month, so enjoy February while it lasts! As it is my intention to post a Mini Series every month this year,
(and we have already arrived at the last Monday in January) I decided to look no further than my neighborhood for inspiration. And I found an abundance of seasonal patterns - beginning with the flocks of wild parrots that have come to roost in our camphor trees for the winter... |
